چکیده

We have performed an Eotvos-type experiment at a site with a significant slope in the terrain. For an intermediate-range force coupled to baryon number (N+Z) we find the product of strength ao and range X, to be aQ = —0.04+'0.07 m for 25 & X & 400 m. At greater ranges the value and the error increase linearly to a+= —0.05+ 0.09 m at 1.6 km. If the coupling is quark-flavor dependent, i.e., is purely to N —Z, we find, to well within the error, the same value for aors.

Comment on "Modulated-source Eötvös experiment at Little Goose Lock"

A Cu-Pb torsion balance placed next to a large lock on the Snake River permitted setting limits on the coupling constant for a possible intermediate-range material-dependent gravitational force. A 1,7&10kg perturbing mass of water could be turned on or oft within 12 min and had a well-known distribution. No evidence for a fifth force was observed. The experiment is primarily sensitive to isospi...

Size-dependent on vibration and flexural sensitivity of atomic force microscope

In this paper, the free vibration behaviors and flexural sensitivity of atomic force microscope cantilevers with small-scale effects are investigated. To study the small-scale effects on natural frequencies and flexural sensitivity, the consistent couple stress theory is applied. In this theory, the couple stress is assumed skew-symmetric. Unlike the classical beam theory, the new model contain...

Semi-analytical Solution for Time-dependent Creep Analysis of Rotating Cylinders Made of Anisotropic Exponentially Graded Material (EGM)

In the present paper, time dependent creep behavior of hollow circular rotating cylinders made of exponentially graded material (EGM) is investigated. Loading is composed of an internal pressure, a distributed temperature field due to steady state heat conduction with convective boundary condition and a centrifugal body force. All the material properties are assumed to be exponentially graded a...

Chemical Synthesis of Nano-Crystalline Nickel-Zinc Ferrite as a Magnetic Pigment

The nano-crystalline nickel-zinc ferrite was prepared via chemical synthesis. Zinc nitrate, nickel nitrate, iron nitrate hydrate, citric acid and ethylene glycol were used as precursor materials. Crystallization behavior of the precursor was studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD). Nanoparticle phases can change amorphous to spinel ferrite depending on the calcination temperature and crystallite siz...

Effect of Temperature Dependency on Thermoelastic Behavior of Rotating Variable Thickness FGM Cantilever Beam

Thermoelastic behavior of temperature-dependent (TD) and independent (TID) functionally graded variable thickness cantilever beam subjected to mechanical and thermal loadings is studied based on shear deformation theory using a semi-analytical method. Loading is composed of a transverse distributed force, a longitudinal distributed temperature field due to steady-state heat conduction from root...
